SLIDESHOW: A stormy night on Bute

Waiting for Video...

The storm, which raged overnight between December 4-5, wreaked havoc in some parts of the island.

With the two ferry links cancelled, and many roads across Bute covered in debris - some blocked by fallen trees - there was a bit of a clean-up job needed to restore order.

Mountstuart Road was closed for a time after problems with scaffolding on a building in the area, while a tree blocking the road to Rhubodach at Kames Bay needed cleared.

Tommy Walmsley took his cherry-picker along East Princes Street, to remove loose slates which were hanging precariously close to the roof-edge of the buildings high above the street, with local police officers assisting.

Also, a number of homes were left without power - which at the time of writing was yet to be restored.
