School bus in crash on Bute

A school minibus with children on board was involved in a road accident on the west coast of the island on Tuesday afternoon.

Police received a call at 3.25pm to say that a 4x4 vehicle had collided with the side of the minibus, which had three children and two adults on board, at the Straad.

No-one was injured as a result of the collision but the male driver of the 4x4 - the vehicle’s only occupant - is the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal for dangerous driving.

The man was released on an undertaking to appear at Rothesay Sheriff Court on February 25.
