Rothesay rector installed as Cathedral canon

The Very Rev Andrew Swift, Dean of Argyll and the Isles and rector of St Paul’s Church in Rothesay, has been installed as a Canon of the Cathedral of the Isles in Millport.
Mr Swift and the Very Rev Nicki McNelly, Provost of Oban Cathedral were installed by the Rt Rev Kevin Pearson at a sung eucharist attended by 15 members of Mr Swift’s Bute congregation.
The Rt Rev Dr Idris Jones, retired primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church and Bishop of Glasgow and Galloway, preached. A choir was directed by cathedral director of music Alastair Chisholm with Jonathan Cohen as organist. Honorary canons, local clergy from both Argyll and The Isles and Glasgow and Galloway diocese and guests from local churches shared lunch before the service and a reception afterwards.
