Rothesay pupils show they’re ‘ferry’ talented
Rothesay Primary School's CalMac drawing contest winners pictured with the ferry operator's Rothesay port manager, Alison Cowan.
The artistic talents of pupils at Rothesay Primary School have gone on display on board a Caledonian MacBrayne ferry serving the island.
The company ran a competition for pupils from pre-5 to P7 before Christmas, asking them to draw MV Bute, one of the two vessels on the Rothesay-Wemyss Bay route, decorated for Christmas.
The winning pictures have gone on display on board MV Bute, while other entries can be seen at the ship’s website (click on the link to the right of this article). Some of the winners even had the chance to travel on the bridge and meet the captain!
Maureen Shaw, depute head for pre-5 to P5 at Rothesay Primary, said: “We would like to thank Alison Cowan [CalMac’s Rothesay port manager] and CalMac for inviting us to take part in this competition and for thier continued support.”
