Rothesay pupils back ‘Stand Up To Cancer’

Pupils at Rothesay Primary School are supporting the national Stand Up To Cancer campaign.

Pupils and staff at Rothesay Primary School have given their backing to a national campaign being run by the Cancer Research UK charity called Stand Up To Cancer.

Bute’s main contribution to the campaign will take place on Friday, October 19 at the island’s biggest ever photo call, when as many people as possible are being encouraged to come to Guildford Square for a huge group photograph.

To build up support for the event, CRUK Rothesay shop manager Anna Harrison has been touring the island taking pictures of as many local groups as possible lending their support to the campaign - we’ll picture as many as we can between now and October 19, starting here with Rothesay Primary, pictured at the school’s regular weekly assembly.

Nationally, October 19 will see an evening of fund-raising and entertainment broadcast on Channel 4 - the primary pupils pictured above got a sneak preview on Monday of a TV trailer which will be getting plenty of airtime between now and the big day!
