Rothesay prom bollards ‘in place next week’

Rothesay’s promenade will finally be closed off to vehicle parking by the end of this month, Bute Community Council was told this week.

Local Argyll and Bute councillor Len Scoullar told BCC members on Wednesday night that the bollards would be installed once all the island’s 999 services had been provided with a key allowing them to lower the bollards for emergency access.

The prom will also be accessible to Argyll and Bute Council vehicles and to permitted traffic for special events, such as the fairground which visits each summer and the annual Bute Vintage Club rally.
