Rothesay police office host open day

editorial image

Rothesay police office held an open day today (Saturday, March 16) to celebrate the last 38 years of Strathclyde Police before the transition to Police Scotland on April 1.

Members of the public were able to have a sneak-peek at behind-the-scenes of the local office, which included guided tours by officers of the cells, the CCTV viewing room and the police vehicles, as well as allowing for discussions with staff members on the history of the police service and what the arrival of Police Scotland will bring.

Many youngsters were keen to see what it’d be like to be a ‘baddie’ for the day, and had their fingerprints taken, while others hopped into the back of a police van while officers fired up the siren.
