Rothesay's police station is to host an open day on March 16.

An open day is to be held at Rothesay police office to mark the 38 years of Strathclyde Police and the move towards a new single police authority for Scotland.

The open day will be held on Saturday, March 16 from 2pm to 4pm, when members of the public can visit the police office in High Street to find out more about Strathclyde’s history and the transition to Police Scotland, which takes effect on April 1.

We’ve been speaking to Chief Inspector Gary Stitt, the area police commander for Bute, Cowal and Helensburgh, about the implications of the change for policing on Bute - more on that story on this site later this week.
