North Bute pupils shrug off rain on sponsored walk

Pupils, parents and grandparents wrap up well on a decidedly wintry June morning for North Bute Primary's annual sponsored walk.

Some distinctly un-summer-like weather failed to dampen the spirits of pupils from North Bute Primary in Port Bannatyne on Friday as they set out on their annual sponsored walk.

Armed with brollies, raincoats and wellies, the pupils, along with parents and staff, set out just before 9.30am to walk the two miles to Ettrick Bay, making use en route of the path which follows the route of the old tram service which ran between Rothesay and the popular beauty spot on the west coast of the island until 1936.

Afterwards the pupils told us: “We are so grateful to everybody who helped on the walk and all who sent us sponsor money.”
