Housing applicants who have applied or who wish to apply for housing with any of the Home Argyll Partners (Argyll Community Housing Association, Dunbritton Housing Association, Fyne Homes or West Highland Housing Association) are being asked to complete a new online housing application form.
This means that housing applications can be made from home computers, libraries or any building with public internet access. Home Argyll staff will be available to assist applicants who may require help with this or with any issues they may have.
Information about the online application form has been sent out to all existing applicants and the system is accessible for re-registration from July 1. Existing applicants must reapply to ensure they remain on the waiting list.
All new applicants will also be required to apply using the new online system and from October all new applicants will be asked to complete a Housing Options appraisal to ensure that they receive the best possible advice about their options for obtaining housing in Argyll and Bute.
The new on-line application form will coincide with a revised Home Argyll Allocations Policy which has been developed in consultation with tenants and applicants. The new policy will address and re-prioritise some of the categories of housing need. For example tenants who are under-occupying their house will be given a higher level of priority to reflect the fact that many such tenants are affected by housing benefit changes.
The new policy will take effect from October 1, 2014, and all applicants will continue to be prioritised using the existing policy up until this date.
Further information is available from any of the Home Argyll partner Housing Associations.
