MP speaks of ‘disappointment’ at unsuccessful funding bid for Pavilion
Alan REID MP has spoken out today of his ‘disappointment’ that Argyll and Bute Council has been unsuccessful in a bid for funding towards the restoration of Rothesay Pavilion.
The application was one of 37 which Creative Scotland received - and was one of five from within Argyll and Bute.
In a letter to the MP, Mr Andrew Dixon, chief executive of Creative Scotland, said: “This was a particularly popular round of capital funding. The total funding available for this round is £13 million, and we have had over £30 million requested.”
Mr Reid today said: “It’s very important that the Rothesay Pavilion restoration project goes ahead soon. I had written to Creative Scotland in support of the Council’s grant application, and I am very disappointed that it has been rejected.
“I have written to the Council’s Chief Executive saying that the restoration project is very important and asking how the Council’s intends to find this money from other sources.”
