Mount Stuart and its catering partners, Heritage Portfolio, have together scooped ‘Taste Our Best’ accreditation for the two cafes run for day visitors: the Victorian Tearoom and the Visitor Centre Cafe.

Awarded in recognition of the quality of service, facilities and food, ‘Taste Our Best’, represents recognition by tourist board, VisitScotland, that a tourism provider is working to a standard of excellence in local and Scottish food.

With a focus on the provenance of food as well as how it is cooked and presented, plus the friendliness, professionalism and efficiency of staff, achieving Taste Our Best is an accolade for any business.

Ian D’Annunzio Green, executive director of Heritage Portfolio, comments: “The cafes team at Mount Stuart, as with our other heritage venues, prides itself in excellence throughout. We focus on the freshest of food, all cooked from scratch, and the best in service.

“This award is a real recognition of the hard work and passion demonstrated by the team.”

Mount Stuart grows its own vegetables and fruit in the walled garden on the estate and works with local producers on the Isle of Bute and nearby. From Richie’s of Rothesay smoked salmon and haddock to Mount Stuart’s own free range eggs, local and fresh are the key ingredients in the success of the partnership between Mount Stuart and their creative catering company partner.
