The Secretary of State for Scotland, Michael Moore MP, was on Bute on Wednesday, February 20, where he visited Bute FM, the island’s community radio station.

Accompanied by Alan Reid MP and his PR Christy McCurdy, the group was shown around Bute FM’s premises after an inimitable Bute FM welcome, and spoke at length with several of the station’s volunteers.

Following a long discussion about how much work goes into a community radio station behind-the-scenes, and the challenges faced in securing funding for the service’s operation, Mr Moore was interviewed on-air by Isra, who is one of more than forty Bute FM volunteers.

Another Bute FM volunteer has made a video, based on the interview, which can be viewed by clicking on the link to the right of this article.
