Just one year ago, a Bute couple took on a remarkable feat for charity, by ziplining across the Clyde in aid of Cancer Support Scotland. Together they raised over £3000 for the charity, and this year is no different, as George and Myra Love prepare to take on another zipline adventure!

“We’re doing it again on March 24 to raise funds for Cancer Support Scotland,” Myra told us. However, this year George and Myra will be sporting somewhat more appropriate attire for flying through the air - Superman and Wonder Woman costumes!

George was diagnosed with prostate cancer three-and-a-half years ago, and Myra told us “it’s remarkable that he’s still trying to live life to the full”.

Cancer Support Scotland (Tak Tent) provides complementary therapies, one-to-one talking therapy and support groups for anyone affected by cancer free of charge; this includes those living with the disease as well as friends and family. There are currently nine support groups in communities throughout west and central Scotland, with one being on Bute.
