Local councillor and Argyll and Bute provost Isobel Strong officially opens the Grow Bute allotments.

From a waste ground, filled with old mattresses and discarded car engines, to an area filled with flowers, fruits and vegetables - the transformation of the ground beside St Andrew’s Primary School has been spectacular.

Local councillor and Argyll and Bute Provost Isobel Strong, officially opened the Grow Bute allotments this week, before visitors were invited in to walk around the gardens, inspect the produce and find out more from some of the gardeners.

“One of the reasons I was so pleased to officially open Grow Bute as Provost today is that it’s been a real achievement,” Cllr Strong said. “Firstly, to get the ground from the council and then for Grow Bute to make an amazing transformation into what we see today.”
