A fleet of stunning Ferraris will go on show to the public during a visit to Bute on Sunday, May 20.

A FLEET of stunning Ferraris is set to make for a spectacular sight on a visit to Bute later this month.

The Scotland West area group of the Ferrari Owners’ Club of Great Britain will visit the island on Sunday, May 20 – when residents and visitors alike will have the chance to get up close and personal with some of the world’s most beautiful high-performance sports cars.

More than 15 Ferrari owners are expected to make the trip to Bute, and a stop-over on the Rothesay promenade will give members of the public the chance to see the stunning vehicles at close quarters.

The cars’ owners also hope to raise money for a local good cause by allowing the public to be photographed next to – or even inside – the visiting vehicles, in return for a donation to the Calum’s Cabin charity.

The cars will stop in Rothesay for around an hour from 11.30am to 12.30pm on May 20, while those who cannot make it to the prom will have the chance to see the fleet parked in front of their final destination, Mount Stuart house, from around 1pm onwards.

Asked just what it was about Ferraris that made them so special, area group organiser Stewart Ross told The Buteman: “Enzo Ferrari founded the company in 1947 and took both the racing and road car side of the operation to the very pinnacle of automotive engineering.

“There aren’t many Ferrari road cars made – perhaps only five or six thousand a year – so to have a Ferrari is a very exclusive thing.

“Ferrari’s are rare in numbers in Scotland, so the chance to see a fleet of them in one place really isn’t something that happens very often.”
