Fashion show raises £1,659 for Cancer Research UK

THE annual Cancer Research UK fashion show in Rothesay has this year raised more than £1,650 for the charity.
Organiser Anna Harrison, the manager of the charity’s Rothesay shop, announced the total on Monday afternoon as the dust finally began to settle on Friday’s show.
Tickets to the event, along with raffle tickets and the sale of clothing modelled during the event, raised £836, with a further £723.10 added through donations and spending at the variety of stalls at the show venue at Rothesay Joint Campus.
The final total of £1,659.10 - the largest total for a single year raised at the event, which has been running since 2010 - also included £100 from a silent auction for a painting by Bute artist Jeff Worrall.
* More on this story - plus a selection of photographs from the event - in the new issue of The Buteman, on sale from Thursday, June 21.
