Engine problem hits Rothesay ferry service

Ferry services between Rothesay and Wemyss Bay will be severely affected on Monday due to a technical problem with one of the engines on MV Bute.

Instead of a 45-minute peak frequency and an hourly service off-peak, MV Argyle will sail at the following times:

From Rothesay at 06:25, 08:00, 09:30, 11:00, 13:00, 14:30, 16:00, 17:30 and the last departure at 19:00.

From Wemyss Bay at 07:15, 08:45, 10:15, 1200, 13:45, 15:15, 16:45, 18:15 last departure at 19:45.

The problem kept MV Bute out of service from late afternoon on Sunday; at the time of writing the vessel is heading to James Watt Dock in Greenock for repairs.
