Controlled drugs have been found in four island premises after Rothesay officers conducted searches under warrant on Friday, February 22.

As a result of the searches, a further property was searched on the mainland and a substantial quantity of controlled drugs was also found.

Reports will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal with charges including possession with intent to supply and possession of controlled drugs.

Inspector Gordon Anderson, Bute’s senior police officer, told The Buteman: “As we mentioned last week after a substantial cannabis cultivation was discovered on Bute, Police Scotland will continue to pursue those involved in the drugs trade. We will be relentless in this task.

“This was a large scale operation involving various departments of Police Scotland including the use of a drugs dog which resulted in five premises in total being targeted and drugs found in all the premises.”
