Drivers charged after serious Bute road smash
Two drivers have been charged by police following a road accident on Bute which resulted in several serious injuries and saw a 14-year-old boy airlifted to hospital.
The pair, aged 17 and 22, have been charged with careless driving following the accident on the B881 near Lochend farm, about half a mile outside Rothesay, at around 10pm on Wednesday.
The two drivers will be reported to the procurator fiscal following police enquiries into the crash, in which two vehicles were involved.
Inspector Gordon Anderson, the senior Strathclyde Police officer on Bute, said: “I again issue a reminder to all road users to drive at the appropriate speed for the conditions.
“Police officers based at Rothesay will be proactively targeting individuals who show a blatant disregard for the law and the safety of all road users.”
