Demolition is option for former Rothesay church

All options, including demolition, are being considered for a former Rothesay church building after its condition deteriorated significantly.

An exclusion zone was placed around the long-derelict former Rothesay West Church building in Argyle Street - which was last used as a church in 1978 - following a recent inspection by members of Argyll and Bute Council’s building control team.

A council spokesperson said solutions for the B-listed building “may include stabilizing work, partial or full demolition”.
