Court: Man admits Rothesay ‘fear and alarm’ charge

A man from Cambuslang near Glasgow pleaded guilty at Rothesay Sheriff Court on Monday to placing his former partner in a state of alarm in an incident in the town last month.

James McAree (46), address given as 45 Logan Tower, Cambuslang, admitted his responsibility for the incident in Eden Drive on December 1.

The court heard the two parties’ relationship had ended a year prior to the incident.

Sentence on McAree was deferred for six months; Sheriff Ruth Anderson told him his return date in July was the only time he should make a return visit to the island.
