Twenty-eight tractors and two teams of Clydesdale horses took part in Bute Vintage Club’s annual ploughing match on Saturday.

The event attracted 13 competitors from off the island, from as far afield as Fife, Ayrshire, Lanarkshire and West Lothian - but it was the two teams of Clydesdales, entered by Jock McMillan, of Little Barone farm near Rothesay, and Neil McPhail, from Glenbarr in Kintyre, that stole the show at Langalchorad farm near Kingarth.
