Celebrity sisters support Bute’s efforts in Stand Up To Cancer

BUTE’S efforts on Friday to Stand Up To Cancer were recognised by a couple of very famous faces via Twitter – Danni and Kylie Minogue!

On Friday, Danni retweeted a message from island resident Hazel Mulholland which included an image of the Guildford Square participants, as well as a note that around £2000 had been raised so far.

On Saturday, Anna Harrison – manager of the Cancer Research UK shop in Montague Street – said: “We got a tweet this morning from Danni Minogue - turns out she and her super famous sister have seen our group photo and liked it!”

Also, Mhairi Mackenzie of Bonnie Bling – which has a huge celebrity following including Elton John and Usain Bolt - has created three pieces of bespoke jewellery for Stand Up To Cancer, which have been put forward for a silent auction. All the items will be on show in the community shop where you can bid for them, with opportunities to do so until the end of next week.

Bute’s current total – as of last night – is £3110 all in aid of Stand Up To Cancer. Well done to everyone for their efforts!
