Bute student nominated for top nursing award
Stirling University student and former Rothesay Academy pupil Meggan Reid is one of nine contenders for the Adult Nursing Student of the Year prize at the Student Nursing Times Awards.
A former pupil at Rothesay Academy has been nominated for a top UK student nursing award.
Meggan Reid, who’s now in the final year of an adult nursing degree course at the University of Stirling, is one of nine candidates from across Britain shortlisted for the Adult Nursing - Student of the Year prize at the Student Nursing Times Awards.
The awards ceremony will be held at the Grange St Paul’s Hotel in London on May 1.
Meggan, who has dyslexia, has worked her way up to the top five per cent in her average grades in the 180-strong class at Stirling during the three years of her course.
“The university was really impressed with the way I’ve worked my way up from the bottom to the top,” Meggan said.
“I’m so proud to have got this far - I didn’t expect this nomination at all.”
