A Bute project aiming to reduce carbon emissions on Bute has won an international award for its work.
Towards Zero Carbon Bute, run by Fyne Futures, has been awarded the National Energy Globe Award for the United Kingdom for ‘an outstanding project that has delivered significant carbon reductions on [the] Isle of Bute via recycling waste management, reuse of furniture, growing local produce, raising awareness and promoting behaviour change across a number of themes including low carbon travel initiatives, energy efficiency and renewable technologies’.
Fyne Futures project manager Reeni Kennedy-Boyle told us: ““This is fantastic news. We are so pleased that the community of Bute will be recognised on the global stage for its role in tackling climate change.”
