Police on Bute have issued an appeal for information after three vehicles were stolen from a remote area of the island between Rothesay and Port Bannatyne.

The vehicles were all taken from properties in the Gortans/Westlands Farm area between 10pm on Sunday, June 15 and 7am the next morning.

Anyone with information about those responsible for the thefts can dial Police Scotland on 101 and ask to be connected to Rothesay police office.

Police have also issued a reminder to Bute vehicle owners that though the island may appear safer than many mainland communities, it’s never a good idea to leave unattended vehicles unlocked - or, even worse, unlocked with the keys still inside.
