Local firm Bute Fabrics received its Queen’s Award for Enterprise from Her Majesty’s representative in Argyll and Bute on Monday.

Patrick Stewart, Lord-Lieutenant of Argyll and Bute, and his Bute deputy Lyn Bulloch presented the award at a ceremony at the company’s mill in Rothesay’s Barone Road, attended by the firm’s directors and employees and by invited customers and guests from the local community.

Mr Stewart said: “Her Majesty is keen for me to say to everyone how much you have done for the company and also for this community.

“Bute is very lucky to have such an enterprising organisation, and one which seems to me to be going from strength to strength.”
