Two Bute companies are to undergo bespoke training and mentoring as part of a new venture aimed at helping Scottish food and drink businesses break into the lucrative North American market.
Bute Island Foods and Henshelwoods Fine Foods are two of five Scottish small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) taking part in the ‘Access 6’ export programme.
Guy Crichton and Debbie Dawson from Bute Island Foods travelled to New York this week to take part in a three-day study tour to launch the initiative.
They’re visiting the renowned Summer Fancy Food Fair at the city’s Javits Centre and meeting a variety of retail and food service outlets around Manhattan, giving them an ideal chance to engage with potential future business partners.
