Two Bute brothers have been recognised for their volunteering efforts with a local youth football coaching club.

Ryan and Matthew Leitch have, since last summer, spent their spare time helping to promote youth football on the island for children aged between five and 13. With 200 hours of volunteering in that time, the brothers - who both play for the Bute Youth Football Coaching under-17s team - were recently each presented with a Saltire Award from Argyll Voluntary Actions.

Ryan and Matthew have been helping at training sessions with BYFC for the last nine months or so, but have also passed their first aid courses, first two levels of their coaching badges, children in safe hands certificates and are also members of the recently formed Sports Hub.

If you are aged between 12-25 and would like to get involved in the Saltire Awards through football, please get in touch with Roddie Leitch directly or use BYFC’s facebook page.
