‘Bronze Age’ week with Achievement Bute

Achievement Bute and Brandanii Archeaology and Heritage are getting together to re-create a Bronze Age Settlement in Rothesay Pavilion during the October school holidays.

Their ‘Back to the Bronze Age’ event will take children to visit some of the pre-historic sites around the island, and to research Bronze-Age life at Bute Museum under the expert guidance of local archaeologist Paul Duffy.

Over the course of the week the children will build their very own Bronze Age roundhouses, make “ancient” clothes, pottery, jewellery and other artefacts, and on Friday, October 19, family, friends and interested members of the public will be invited to meet the Clans who will re-enact a day in the life of a Bronze Age village at 2.30pm in the Pavilion.

For more information about Back to the Bronze age contact Achievement Bute on 505558.
