Back to the Bronze Age

editorial image

Achievement Bute and Brandaii Archaeology and Heritage transformed Rothesay Pavilion into a bronze-age settlement today, as part of their ‘Back to the Bronze Age’ week.

Children were taken on trips to pre-historic sites around the island by archaeologist Paul Duffy, and carried out research into the era at Bute Museum.

The week also saw the children’s artistic side come out, as they made roundhouses, ‘ancient’ clothing’, pottery, jewellery and weaponry.

The grand finale to a wonderful week of fun and learning was with a bronze age performance by the children, portraying how hunters and gatherers would have lived at the time.
