Auditions in Rothesay for Bute’s 2012 pantomime
Auditions for Bute’s 2012 pantomime, the Bute Amateur Players’ production of Aladdin, take place at Rothesay Pavilion on Sunday, September 30.
There are 12 parts in the show, plus roles as townspeople (extras), ‘inside-costume’ roles and backing singers.
The Players are also hoping to encourage younger members of the community to lend a hand in a spectacular ultra-violet cave scene to close the first half of the show, featuring skeletons, snakes, hilarious dance routines and a magic carpet flying around the stage.
The Players are hoping that the operators for this scene will be mostly aged between 12 and 18 and “pretty nimble”. Technical training will be given to the operators of this scene, which, according to Players’ president Iain Gillespie, “will probably be the most spectacular scene ever seen on the Pavilion stage”.
The auditions take place at the Pavilion from 2-5pm on September 30, and the doors open at 1.30pm.
For more details see the new issue of The Buteman – on sale from September 27.
