Argyll and Bute population summit postponed

The Queen's Hall in Dunoon was to have hosted an Argyll and Bute population summit on Friday, May 9, but the event has now been postponed.

The Queen's Hall in Dunoon was to have hosted an Argyll and Bute population summit on Friday, May 9, but the event has now been postponed.

A summit due to be held this week to look at ways of reversing Argyll and Bute’s declining population has been postponed.

The invitation-only event was due to have taken place at the Queen’s Hall in Dunoon this Friday, May 9.

The organisers, Argyll and Bute Council, say the reason for the postponement is that the keynote speaker, Scotland’s finance minster John Swinney MSP, will be attending a funeral.

The council said in a statement that the event would be rescheduled for “a date to be announced towards the end of the year”.
