Annemarie Chambers' winning entry in Bute's first scarecrow competition.

The winner of Bute’s first scarecrow competition is Annemarie Chambers of Hillview Walk in Rothesay.

Annemarie’s entry caught the eye of judges Kate Chambers and Leo Plaster, and won her the first prize of a meal for two at Restaurant No. 29 in Rothesay’s Gallowgate.

A special second prize went to Elliot and Hugh Reid of Quogach farm, although the judges had words of praise for all the householders and businesses who took part.

Competition organiser Aidan Canavan says he already plans to run the competition in 2013 - so if you missed out on the chance to enter this time round, now’s the time to start thinking about next year!
