Learn to ‘up-cycle’ with Rothesay Design Doctor

Fyne Futures will demonstrate the art of 'up-cycling' after decorating two flats in the town with second-hand items back in October. Here Caroline Speirs and 'visual merchandiser' Lesley Haggarty apply the finishing touches to one of the properties.

Ever heard of ‘up-cycling’? Want to learn more from the services of a Design Doctor? Then an event in Rothesay this week could be just the thing for you.

Local social enterprise Fyne Futures is holding three sessions with its own ‘design doctor’ this Tuesday, November 10, at the organisation’s Re-style shop on the corner of Montague Street and Deanhood Place.

The sessions will demonstrate how to breathe new life into old items of furniture, and follows an open day last month at two flats in the centre of the town, kitted out with a range of ‘up-cycled’ items to demonstrate just how much you can achieve with second-hand furniture and a little imagination.

Each of the three sessions runs for just over an hour, and the first begins at 11am. Call (01700) 503181 to find out more.
