Late cancellation angers Bute theatre fans

BUTE theatre-goers were left disappointed this week when a new dramatisation of the classic novel Lord of the Flies was cancelled at short notice due to poor advance ticket sales.

Theatre company Sell A Door had been due to perform their new version of William Golding’s 1954 masterpiece at Rothesay Pavilion as part of a UK-wide tour - but the show was called off at short notice, with the company blaming the high cost of staging the performance and the “failure to reach any significant audience numbers”.
