There's just over 24 hours to go until the third annual Rock the Prom, and the organisers have a real treat in store for the island community.

With the event attracting over 1,700 people last year, this year’s event on Saturday, October 29, looks set to be just as exciting for the island community.

X Factor 2013 finalist Nicholas McDonald will be returning to the event for a second year, and will be supported by a wealth of local talent including Emma Flanagan, Layla Templeton, Danny Sweet, Beth Swan and the Rothesay and District Pipe Band, along with more acts on the night.

This year's Rock the Prom coincides with Halloween, so the team will be running an on-the-night competition with fantastic prizes for the best dressed entrants.

The stage will be hosted by Bute Island Radio DJ, Chrissy Kinloch, who will be sure to keep visitors entertained and updated with the evening's offerings.

The funfair will provide thrills and spills for all the family, motor racing fans can enjoy a Ferrari F1 racing car, and the bar and hot food kiosk will keep energy levels topped up throughout the night.

Entry to the event is £3 for over 14s, with under 14s charged just £1. The night kicks off at 6pm, running until 11pm, and guarantees a fantastic evening’s entertainment for the whole family.
