Isobel Rich won the British Fuchsia Society Bronze Medal for the best exhibit at Bute Fuchsia Society’s annual show on Sunday - the second year running she’s been awarded the event’s top prize.

The medal was one of seven class prizes won by Isobel at the annual event at the Moat Centre in Rothesay, which was judged this year by Richard Knight.

Although the number of plants exhibited was lower than in previous years - largely the result of the beautiful summer weather, which has caused many fuchsias to bloom earlier than usual - the quality on show was beyond question and all those who visited the event marvelled at the dedication and enthusiasm put into cultivating these small but beautiful plants for exhibition.

For a complete list of show results see this week’s issue of The Buteman - on sale from Thursday, August 29.
