Over £1800 has been distributed among five different community groups this week from local thrift shop For Bute.

Comfort Fund for the Elderly received £1000, Bute Community Band received £400 for sheet music, Brandaii Archaeology’s children’s week was given £200, £120 was given to Bute Horticultural Society, and £150 to St Paul’s Church for their Christmas lunch.

Marlene Hill of For Bute said: “Thanks to those who keep giving to us, we’ve been able to give back. Please keeping bringing in your unwanted items.”

Also, this week, for one week only, For Bute will have an early Christmas sale, full of decorations and ornaments for the festive season. Why not pop in, grab a bargain, and help support continued funding for island groups?
