Bute might seem a little isolated at times - but as Rothesay couple Colin and Isabel Sharp can attest, it’s nothing compared to being 1,200 miles and a five-day sea voyage away from the nearest point on the mainland.

That’s just one aspect of the reality of life on St Helena, the tiny British dependent territory in the Atlantic Ocean where Colin and Isabel spent an unforgettable eight days last year.
