The brave crews of nine colourful rafts - of varying designs and levels of seaworthiness - took to the waters of Rothesay Bay on Sunday afternoon for the Isle of Bute Sailing Club’s annual raft race.

Local businesses, charities and community groups represented in this year’s event were Mount Stuart, Bute County Cricket Club, the local Cancer Research UK charity shop, ButeFest, the Bute Junior Agricultural Club, Scottish Hydro Electric, butcher R.H. McIntyre, the Isle of Bute Sailing Club themselves - and a tribute to one of the most memorable visitors to Rothesay this summer, Roman Abramovich’s megayacht Eclipse.
