Community group Light Up Bute shrugged off the inconvenience of a 24-hour postponement to ensure there was plenty of fun for all at their annual Easter fair.
A forecast for heavy rain persuaded the organisers to move the event from Easter Sunday to Easter Monday - and the decision paid off, with sun smiling on at least part of the afternoon’s festivities, which combined local stalls with Light Up Bute’s own attractions and visiting rides, games and food and drink from McKenzie’s Amusements.
Also included on the programme was a contest to see who could stuff the most marshmallows in their mouth. It was won in handsome style by Darren from McKenzie’s Amusements - though we won’t be rushing to try and match his record of 17!
Light Up Bute’s year-round festivities are held to raise money for a Bonfire Night fireworks display on the Rothesay prom.
