More than six hundred people attended Bute’s first community sport gala day at Rothesay Joint Campus on Sunday.

The event gave members of the public the chance to try out new sports for the first time and provided information on the many sports clubs and exercise pursuits available on the island, including football, rugby, shinty, cricket, golf, gymnastics, trampolining, kickboxing and tennis, to name just a few.

Kickboxing was one of more than a dozen sporting activities on show at Rothesay's first community sport gala day, held on March 23, 2014.

There were also fun inflatable activities to help with efforts to buy a community defibrillator for the campus, and fund-raising stalls organised by the parent councils of all three island primary schools.
