Bute Vintage Club's annual charity road run took place on Saturday, July 9.

All roads led to Bute on Saturday when 70 tractors travelled from as far afield as Doncaster, Carlisle, Glenluce, Crieff and Campbeltown to join local entrants in the Bute Vintage Club annual charity road run.

With a total of 111 participants, the tractors assembled on the esplanade, enjoying music from Bute Ceilidh Band, before being waved off by founding member Tom Cromack MBE.

This year’s route took the tractors round several island roads before heading on to the moor road and on to St Blane’s Chapel, turning at plan Farm. The procession stopped off at Kingarth Hotel before returning to Rothesay via the shore road, finishing at the Isle of Bute Sailing Club where everyone enjoyed excellent hospitality.

When all sponsorship and donations are gathered in, cheques will be presented to Bute Palliative Care fund and North Ayrshire Cancer Care.
