IN PICTURES: Air ambulance lands on Bute coast road

Bute’s main coastal road, the A844, was closed on the edge of Rothesay this week to allow a Scottish Ambulance Service helicopter to land on the carriageway.

The helicopter was summoned in response to an emergency call from the Craigard residential home, on Craigmore Road in Montford, at around 9am on Monday.

The distinctive yellow ‘chopper’ landed just outside Craigard, at the foot of Ardencraig Road, but after the patient was examined it was decided she would be better off being transferred to hospital locally by road ambulance, rather than being flown to a hospital on the mainland.
