IN PICTURES: Academy pupils’ voyage with Ocean Youth Trust

Pupils from Rothesay Academy’s XL programme took part in a five-day sailing excursion with the Ocean Youth Trust.

The trip, led by Academy music teacher, Miss Hamlet, saw the group set sail from Greenock aboard ‘Alba Venturer’, heading south down the Firth of Clyde around the south-end of Bute towards Tarbert, before sailing around the north of Bute through the Kyles towards Kilcreggan, finishing back in Greenock.

While one of the main aspects of the experience is to have fun, there are some very important learning opportunities available to the pupils, including taking responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others, living a healthy lifestyle, being inclusive of others, working hard to contribute to the voyage, and supporting and respecting others.
