IN PICTURES: A look around MV Glen Etive at Rothesay pier

The latest new vessel assembled at the Ardmaleish Boatbuilding Company’s yard on Bute was shown off to members of the public on Saturday.

The Majestic Line’s MV Glen Etive made a two-hour stop at Rothesay pier on her maiden voyage from her owners’ HQ in the Holy Loch to Oban, from where she’ll offer six-night and ten-night cruises to a variety of locations in the Inner and Outer Hebrides, and even as far afield as St Kilda, during the forthcoming spring and summer season.

And a steady stream of intrigued visitors came aboard throughout her stopover to look around the ship from top to bottom, from the wheelhouse to the engine room via the bedrooms, communal areas and even the crew accommodation.

The slideshow of pictures above gives a flavour of what’s in store for those lucky enough to enjoy a cruise on board the new ship - we’ll have more on this story, including a chat with Ardmaleish MD Ewan Ferguson, in the next print edition of The Buteman, on sale from Thursday, April 21.
