A busy programme of summer holiday activities for Bute’s young people got under way this week - courtesy of Argyll and Bute Council’s local youth services team.

Week one of the programme featured bridge building, hedge building and brash clearing at Mount Stuart and a beach clean at Ettrick Bay with island charity Beachwatch Bute.

All those who took part in the first week of the programme earned themselves a place on the team’s programme of off-island day trips later in the month - mountain biking in Lochgoilhead, a visit to the Ryze trampoline park and then the Big Day Out for young people from all over Argyll and Bute, being held at Inveraray Castle on July 23.

The progamme also features sessions on archery and beauty therapy, a movie night, a barbecue and beach games, and even a workshop on comedy and laughter.
