The Heartstart Bute group has added to the praise for a Rothesay girl who undertook a sponsored swim during the Easter school holidays in aid of two charities.
Ten-year-old Kiera Rutherford raised £163 for Heartstart Bute and £380 for the British Heart Foundation at the swim at Rothesay Leisure Centre in memory of Isobel Johnstone, a member of staff at the centre who died suddenly in March.
Mike McHardy and Margaret Kilpatrick from Heartstart Bute met Kiera this week to accept her donation to the charity.
Margaret Kilpatrick from Heartstart Bute commented: “From Mike and I on behalf of Heartstart Bute, we are delighted to say thank you to Kiera for her wonderful donation.”
After being told Keira swam 198 lengths of the pool one hour a day over three days, Mike added: “That was a remarkable achievement for someone so young.”
The Heartstart Bute group provides emergency first response training courses on the ilsnad on the British Heart Foundation’s behalf.
